Can't access MyNode via web UI after upgrade

Post by Bdon123 »

MyNode was working fine on my Raspberry Pi until I upgraded it.

I clicked upgrade but I also clicked 'force https'. After that I couldn't access MyNode via http://mynode.local or https://mynode.local

I now suspect my situation has something to do with "force https".

However, I didn't consider this at the time and in order to resolve the issue I decided to reflash my SD card with the MyNode download image. I was under the impression that this would also reformat my SSD once inserted back into my Raspberry Pi. I still couldn't access MyNode via web UI.

I decided to reformat my SSD manually as APFS. Still nothing.

Any ideas?

Thanks in advance.

I got the same problem.

Upgrade today, took like 1-2 hours to upgrade and after it was done I can't reach the Web GUI for MyNode.

I can still access it through putty and it says it is running.

Ok, I got it to work again.

I was using an old guide from reddit how to manually update my node. But when I tried updating it with the official guide it worked.

https://github.com/mynodebtc/mynode#upg ... our-mynode

5. Run make start_file_server
This will run a local HTTP server so your device can download files
5.5 JUST TYPE: cd ~ (instead of having 2 terminals.)
6. On the other terminal which you used to ssh into your device, run sudo mynode-local-upgrade [dev pc ip address] (ip should be like this: 192.168.0.8 (for example).

This should be in the guide instead 5.5 step.

For future search reference, I noted that my particular VPN blocked all networking traffic and prevented me from accessing the ip address also. Enable split tunneling on a specific browser temporarily allowed me to access it, or pause vpn, or permanently split tunnel a browser you do not use if you care about privacy etc.

Success!

I had trouble with step 6. For whatever reason it wouldn't accept my password.

But I checked http://mynode.local and I now have access. It's letting me reformat my drive and start syncing again.

Thanks for your help @Bitcoin-node-user
